Your Cereal Is Better Than Mine!

I got up and walked into the kitchen to see this!

Odda thought that Steve's cereal was better than the dog food she was suppose to eat.  Steve had gotten up to get his toast buttered, and Odda must have put her paw or mouth by the bowl, because she tipped it and milk and cereal spilled all over.  She had a great time licking milk up from the floor.   Neither one of us saw it happen.   Opps!    I let her help clean it up a little before I dug in and cleaned the mess up!  Another good reason to wash the floor!

Had bell practice tonight at the Catholic church.  They are short on players because so many of their players are on vacations South, so I've been a substitute player there on Wednesday evenings, as well as playing for my church on Tuesdays.  We play bells on the third Sunday at our church, (Methodist) and I'll be playing for the Catholic church again this month on the fourth Sunday.  It's fun to play different bells, and have the challenge of different music.  I've been moving around the treble and bass clef music and that's a good challenge.  Just to remember which bells I'm playing sometimes can be a challenge!  If you've never heard a bell choir, you're missing out.  The music is beautiful.

Also have been busy making a couple of things for prizes for our Whist card party we're having this Saturday evening.  A Valentine party!  It's been so long since we've played whist, that we've had to practice!  It should be a good time.  I've invited 5 other couples, so we'll have 3 tables going.  It will be tight squeeze for our house, but that'll make it more fun also.  Will have 2 tables in the kitchen, and 1 in the living room.  I have to take out one lazyboy rocker to make room.  But we'll all be within talking distance, so no one will be off in another room somewhere.  I'm going to have a female and male prizes for winners, and losers.  I suppose I should decorate a little for Valentines too!  Don't have that done yet.

Oh, already mid week -  it's getting closer to spring!!!!!!!

That is the cutest photo! That really tickles me!

I loved to hear the bells. Great that you are able to play in two different churches. I'd love it if you could share a video some time.

Your upcoming party sounds like lots of fun. I'm ready for Spring too!

Watch your cereal tomorrow a.m.!!!

Odda looks like she needs a second breakfast. I would love to see a video of the Bell Choir. Thanks for the encouraging words about my upcoming retirement. Five more working days!!!

A bell choir is a beautiful thing to listen to. My older daughter and I played in one in two different churches. (We moved due to work - - didn't just church hop.) The first church was easier music and a "laid-back" director. The second church's director was a college professor who was a VERY talented musician. However, the choir dissolved due to various reasons.

I agree...I would have let the dog clean up the mess first, before I dug into too. :-) My sisterinlaw plays the bells for her church too. I have heard they are just beautiful, but we don't live in the same state so I have never heard her play.

Have a wonderful Valentines gathering!

Hello West Side of Straight,
I have just recently found your site and I am enjoying it very much.
Especially enjoy reading that people still play whist, it has been many years since I have played, and I remember a few whist parties that I use to go to, seems like I would always win the prize for the lowest score. Sister Lois, still plays often where she is at.

Oh Odda what a bad dog you are , but we love you just the same..If my wee Dee had longer legs I am sure he would be joining you in mischief !!
I didn;t know that you played hand bells..It reminded me of when I lived and worked in Bath we always had the Bradford on Avon hand bell ringers come entertain us just before Xmas and we always used to say once they had been our Xmas could start. It amazed us how many bells there were and how tiny the smallest was and how huge the big ones were...Do wish I could hear you at play.

I have never heard of that card game but I am sure you will have a fun party.
Our dog can't reach the table but he is right under it to clean up all that is dropped.
That was such a cute photo.
Have a nice day.

Odda - what a girl! She knows what's good and what isn't.
I am impressed that you can play bells. I like to hear a bell choir. Sounds so pretty. I didn't realize that is was so hard to learn. Have fun and enjoy yourself.
