Took an Easter Drive to a Rookery!

After a hugh Easter dinner and a few games of cards, Jenny (our newest family member from Iowa) and I went for a drive.   Steve and I had been telling them about the Blue Heron Rookery and she wanted to see.  Everyone else lazy, but Jenny and I went.  The birds are sitting on their eggs now, and some nests, you could only see a parents head atop the nest.  The past few days it has been terribly windy here, and you could see damage to some of the nests, so I'm afraid some of the parents lost their eggs.  Some of the birds were nervous that we were there, so we didn't stay too long, but I did get some great pictures.  Wonderous Gods creations!

Wind damaged nest.

Click to enlarge - can even see feathers!   Love my new camera!

You are really getting some nice pictures with your new camera. These Heron photos look great. That would be an awesome sight seeing one of them fly overhead. They are magnificent creatures. I like your new profile picture too - very pretty.
